Jin Mustafa

Through sound, moving image, sculpture, installation, and ephemeral events, Jin Mustafa’s practice explores questions of personal and collective memory, the influence of technology on perception, and the relationship of real and imagined spaces.

Drawing inspiration from Borås history, its communities and possible future, Mustafa has created an alternative soundtrack of the city. Composed of field recordings and original composition, the work can be experienced at three listening points. Taking the form of sculptures, these points are structures to sit, lie, and rest upon, allowing a deeper listening and sensing to take place.

She has performed as a DJ locally and internationally and released music under her own name, as well as part of Karabasan Drane.
